Described as “subtle and polished” (Bachtrack) and “succinct, witty and apt” (Norwich Evening News), music by Ed Scolding has been performed by Exaudi, Music Theatre Wales, Ayre Flutes, London Sinfonietta and in workshops by BBC National Orchestra of Wales, with extracts broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Radio Wales.
With a focus on expression and drama, Ed is a keen collaborator, with recent projects including the soundtrack for Mile End, nominated for Best UK Feature Film at Raindance Festival with the score published by Warner Music Group and album out on Ffin Records, BRUT with Peter Groom (Royal Philharmonic Society / Ideastap), and percussion solo Drawing which won the first Nonclassical Composition Competition.
A committed teacher and leader, Ed is Director of Greenwich Music School, a Council Member of the ISM, an examiner worldwide for Trinity College London and web and projects manager for John Hardy Music in Cardiff. Ed completed MMus Composition (Distinction) at RAM in 2011 with support from sources including Arts Council Wales.
